About

Our family and female friendly Club is located at the Monarto Shooting Complex. Our Ranges have both paper and steel targets provided with a maximum distance of 200m. Shooters can bring most (Category ABH) air rifles, rimfires, centrefires, or shotguns for patterning. We also shoot several Handgun disciplines.

If you like to target shoot, plink, need to sight in a firearm or just want to Try Shooting, then Adelaide Target Shooters Club is the place for you.

We also conduct regular approved courses for those wanting a Firearms Licence A1, B1 and H1.

No Firearms Licence is required to visit or come and Try Shooting at our Club under the direct supervision of our instructors. However you must have photo ID and not be prohibited from using a firearm.

Adelaide Target Shooters Club is a SSAA SA branch that offers a variety of shooting activities for its members, their families and friends.

The Club has a long and rich history that dates back to 1970, when it was founded by a small group of enthusiasts who wanted to establish a Range on the southern side of Adelaide.

Among the original members were some notable figures in Adelaide's shooting community, such as Jack Conquest, Jack Mansfield, Syd Miller, Bob Sharrard and Ray Stone. Ray was especially instrumental in finding a suitable location for the Club, as he used his pilot's licence to fly over the South Coast and spot a stone quarry at Reynella. The Club rented the quarry for a modest price of one bottle of Scotch whisky per year from the landowner. The Club grew steadily and capped its membership at 20 shooters.

However, in 2004, the Club had to relocate due to the construction of a freeway near its original range. The Club decided to join SSAA SA and move to the Monarto Shooting Range Complex, south-east of Adelaide. This move allowed the Club to access more facilities and resources, as well as expand its membership base.

Today, Adelaide Target Shooters Club caters for shooters of all levels and interests, from sighting in and practicing to tuning benchrest rifles, patterning shotguns or enjoying handgun events. The Club welcomes new members who share its passion for shooting and its spirit of promoting the shooting sports.

Adelaide Target Shooters is a Club for all the family.
